Our challenge was clear: how do we translate the values of sustainable entrepreneurship into a format that would engage the diverse public of ExpoAcre—including business owners, students, professionals, and families?
The answer came through immersive experience design, guided by the principles of gamified storytelling. The player’s journey was structured into three interconnected environments:
Briefing Room – where participants received their mission and were introduced to the challenge in a clear and engaging way;
Amazon Rainforest Set – a scenographic space simulating the local biome, where players explored and discovered its sustainable resources;
Entrepreneurship Office – where the goal was to turn the knowledge gained into impactful business ideas, reflecting the reality of Amazonian entrepreneurs.
Escape rooms are far more than entertainment. They are a powerful tool for active learning and audience engagement. Here’s why:
✅ Emotional Engagement – People learn better when emotionally involved. The limited time, environmental immersion, and goal-oriented gameplay create a high-impact emotional experience.
✅ Experiential Learning – According to Stanford University and the Association for Experiential Education, hands-on learning can improve retention of complex topics by up to 75%.
✅ Strategic Gamification – Elements like scoring, narrative, and time-bound missions naturally enhance problem-solving and critical thinking.
✅ Soft Skill Development – Communication, leadership, decision-making under pressure, and collaboration are all exercised throughout the experience.
Over the course of the 9-day fair, the escape room welcomed more than 2,700 participants, with an average game time of 15 minutes and a satisfaction rate above 95% (based on post-game surveys). Additionally:
???? The SEBRAE pavilion became one of the most visited areas at the event, consistently drawing long lines and high engagement;
???? Children, teens, and adults all participated actively, proving the intergenerational value of the format;
???? Many players commented that they had “never learned so much about sustainability in such a fun and memorable way.”
If you're part of a brand, educational institution, public organization, or private company, you might be wondering: how can this be applied in my context?
Here are a few ideas:
Fairs and trade shows – Brand activation with educational content
Corporate events – Team training, onboarding, and integration experiences
Awareness campaigns – Topics like health, environment, or workplace safety
Institutional actions – Projects with schools, universities, and NGOs
The key lies in aligning your organization’s goals with a high-impact narrative, brought to life through immersive, gamified design. And that’s where we come in.
The ExpoAcre case proves that, when thoughtfully designed, escape rooms can become transformative tools for communication, education, and social engagement.
